HP Elite X3

We’ve seen devices like these before but HP believes it has overcome the barriers that have previously prevented all-in-one smartphone solutions.
The HP Elite X3 is a 6-inch phablet that can also become a desktop PC and/or notebook with the attachment of a-few extra accessories. Sporting the all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 system on chip.
It is, as powerful as any other mobility processor out there, but uses less power. The phone also has 4GB of RAM and a Cat 6 LTE modem for good measure. Its sound system is comprised of two front-facing speakers optimised by Bang & Olufsen.
It has a 4,150mAh battery and so should last an entire day, Corning Gorilla Glass 4 to protect that 6-inch “high resolution” screen,
IP67 technology for water and weatherproofing with active noise cancellation on the microphone for clear videocalls and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera that combines two images taken at the same time to improve the quality of both video and images captured especially in low light circumstances.
Unfortunately, with these specifications, its is clear that the Elite X3 is not designed for consumer use.
Instead, it is aimed at the commercial market and that is why HP believes it will succeed as an All-in-one device where others have failed.
The Elite X3 has extremely high levels of security built-in. Not only are there secure boot and image encryption, Bitlocker and VPN-SSL encryption measures, the phone uses two biometric scanners for user identification – fingerprint and iris.

The phone is dual SIM enabled as standard, giving the user the option to have two localised SIMs if they travel between countries and therefore cut down on roaming charges, or even use one SIM for business the other for personal calls.
It is a Windows 10 device. Thanks to Continuum – Microsoft’s Windows 10 technology – you only need to slot the phone into a dock and the homescreen on the monitor will take the appearance of a full desktop PC.
It should work well with basic business apps, such as Word, PowerPoint and the like.
For all you business-men and busy-bodies tired of lugging around all your devices around then this is the device for you.
